Harvard Musical Association Orchestra is established.

Performed by a newly formed orchestra under the direction of Carl Zerrahn, at the Music Hall. The organization was founded in 1837 and previously sponsored concerts and the establishment of a music library. The orchestra subsequently performs a series of concerts that includes all nine symphonies of Beethoven, 12 by Haydn, and six by Mozart. It continues until 1882.
